back to market on close. I'm Marley Kayden here in our Chicago headquarters to discuss real world applications of AI. Let's welcome in our next guest. Joining us now, Sidney Armani, investor and founder of AI FinTech World Fund. Sidney, great to have you on the show. Now, just months ago, everyone was talking about AI infrastructure. Now we're talking much more about AI models and AI adoption more broadly. As you look at the AI cycle, where are we in the AI adoption cycle? Well, good to be with you, Molly. Thanks for having me back. And I was just listening to Alex. That was amazing about talking about what's going on in market this. And the market is doing good. This is, you know, last time I was here the market good. But this is what's happening right now. You know, a lot of infrastructure has been going on. And that's why you see Nebs and you know Nvidia. But TMC just had about 260 265 billion expansion. So good things happening a lot about infrastructure. But you know, a software application is a lot to, you know, come in, you know, and especially in AI, in healthcare and cyber security. And so then let's talk about these models because this has been dominating a lot of the conversation this week with the Kimmy K three coming out of moonshot. We got the updated Quinn 3.8 max from Alibaba. Now we have some commentary coming out of the administration here saying they're going to look into claims of distillation from these Chinese companies. And if they based these models on American products, and if we have intellectual property theft here, there's so many dynamics at play. Sydney, have we officially moved from this being an American AI race to a global AI race? When we're talking about the models and the adoption? Yeah, I study actually. I don't think we have another Sputnik moment here. So is everybody talking? We had one last time with Open Sea and but yeah, it's happening basically, you know, and they're going to the Chinese. They're having an algorithm, but the transformers are the same Transformers. And but as a focus, as an investor, you know, I mean, I like healthcare in AI and healthcare, especially when it comes to the patient and healthcare. It's amazing. Right now, diagnosis is the number one thing you know is going to happen basically because every patient they know about, you know, these diagnoses, they can go to the doctors and talk about, you know, the case. Same thing with the, you know, I like cybersecurity because, you know, if nobody knows, but number three, you know, country in the world is this cyber attacks and other people that they get ransomed, they even have customer service. So this is very important. Now we're getting to the stage of AI will help or hurt. And so then let's talk about some of the help because I think when we talk about AI, we take this very top down approach and we look from 36,000ft, but we don't necessarily highlight some of the practical use cases that we're actually already seeing benefit the everyday person. And you highlight health care as one of those things. So as we're looking at health care, where are we already seeing measurable benefits from the implementation of AI? Yeah, well, it's coming basically, you know, a couple of companies that I've been researching, you know, I mean, I like them. They're not in the market yet. It's open evidence. They already have a subscription base for the doctors, basically. So the doctors can consult with all around the world doctors. So I like open evidence and also try discovery, which is, you know, the drug discovery. And they are doing very well. So this is what is shifting basically. And that's for I mean, you guys have a lot of, you know, retail investors, which is that's what's right now shifting to the companies that they actually, you know, about them, you know, you deal with them, you know, every day, you know, you're a patient, you want to know about your diagnosis. And that's, that's, that's a good way to go for, especially for the retail investors. And one of the big concerns when we talk about AI is the concept of replacing the human worker and it being subsidized to AI. When we're talking about health care, obviously the the presence of the physical doctor is very important here. How are you looking at how AI works alongside a clinician versus actually replacing your medical practitioner? It's not going to happen. You know, you still need that human touch. You need to hold the nurse hand. You know, the doctors come and give him comfort, but it will help them, you know, because misdiagnosis and, you know, medical practice and it's very, very important right now. So a lot of I was just watching some documentary. I saw, you know, a lot of the actors and actresses before just giving an example. They were misdiagnosed. And, you know, they just, they're not here with us anymore. So this is very important, you know, about your health and that's going to help tremendously about AI and patient. And there's a lot of data to be done. But doctors, they're not going to go away. Trust me. They they're not. And how about AI's role in the creation of drugs and the researching of of new medicines? I mean, this is another thing. I keep having conversations about how it could potentially transform that whole industry, because it can run the tests and the metrics faster. I mean, do you view that as being transformative in that space as well? Yeah, no. I go back to your last question. It's about human eyes and taking over. I just saw an article, a real not not really. I was just real about that. They're having teacher as a robot. So this is this is just a trend. We still need the teacher. We still I still, you know, love with my, you know, high school teacher or elementary teacher. But this is all you hear the news, but the real stuff basically. And you go about the drugs and other things is coming on because, you know, look what they find Covid the vaccine right away, you know, and this is going to, you know, I really believe, you know, if we can keep ourselves alive in the next five years, we're going to extend our life with the AI. AI will cure, you know, cancer in the future diagnosis because it will find out early before even in stage zero. And Sydney, you also mentioned cybersecurity there alongside of health care. How are companies using AI as a first line of defense right now? Yeah. Well, one of these companies today, you know, and as Alex was mentioning, Palo Alto Network, they're in cybersecurity and they're doing a great job basically, you know, so it's very important and I see it responsible AI companies like anthropic, you know, LLMs, and they're very careful about not producing something out there, putting another network out there, you know, also large language models. So it hurt the cybersecurity. So we got to we got to, you know, have that compliance. And everybody has to be very careful because it's very, very important because AI can hurt, especially in the financial world. You know, I mean, that's what some of these are very powerful. They can even copy your voice and, you know, voice some of these elements that they have for banking. They got to stop that basically. So you can call your bank and get your, you know, balances, you know, because they can copy your, your, you know, your voice basically. That's very easy. Sydney, really appreciate you taking the time to be with us to take a closer look at some of these positive use cases for AI in the real world.
