We're going into the next stage. So this week we address that by just like in 2021, right? The the big recovery off of COVID, the market then about halfway through about you you know, in the middle of 21, we had a peak in the revision factors, right? We've talked about this over the last month or two. One of the reasons we've been negative on semiconductors is because the peak rate of change is now in for revisions. And that has now leading to what we call a quality rotation. So the broadening out story is still working, but it's morphing just like you were just talking about the earnings, right? We're seeing, you know, Sherwin-Williams, you know, do really well. And then we see some of these tech stocks put up great numbers, but they sell off. So what is that all about? It's all about the peak rate of change. It doesn't mean the CapEx cycle is over. It just means we over discounted it. Stocks trade in the future. They discount a lot of this just like a year ago. Multiples went up. Now multiples are coming down in anticipation of a deceleration next year. So this is this is the adjustment we were expecting. >> Wall Street is flashing red, and retail investors are running for the exits. But behind closed doors, the biggest institutions are preparing for what could become one of the best buying opportunities of the year. Morgan Stanley's chief investment officer, Mike Wilson, believes this isn't the beginning of a bear market. It's a healthy reset within a much larger bull market. Despite growing concerns surrounding geopolitical tensions, rising energy prices, and uncertainty over Federal Reserve policy, Wilson argues that the recent volatility is simply the market digesting short-term risks rather than signaling a structural breakdown. With the S&P 500 trading less than 3% below its all-time high and hovering around 7,400, he expects choppy price action over the coming weeks, but continues to view 7,000 as a critical support level. More importantly, he believes the index still has a path toward 8,000 by year-end. But here's what makes this outlook so interesting. Wilson believes the next market leaders won't necessarily be the same mega-cap technology names that have dominated headlines. Instead, he sees institutional capital rotating toward businesses with durable cash flows, fortress balance sheets, and the critical infrastructure required to support the next industrial revolution. Artificial intelligence may have started with chips, but it now depends on something even more essential. Electricity, grid infrastructure, and the strategic resources needed to build it. Today, we're breaking down three companies that fit that exact investment playbook. An AI-powered electrical infrastructure leader, America's dominant carbon-free power producer, and a critical minerals company building one of the West's most strategic supply chains before the rest of the market fully catches on. First on the list is GE Vernova, ticker symbol GEV. And if Morgan Stanley is right about capital rotating into companies with durable earnings and mission-critical infrastructure, then GE Vernova checks nearly every box. While investors spent the past 2 years chasing AI chip makers, the next phase of the AI revolution depends on something much more fundamental. Generating, transmitting, and managing the enormous amounts of electricity that next-generation data centers require. GE Vernova has quietly become one of the world's most important power infrastructure companies. Its business spans advanced gas turbines, grid modernization equipment, transformers, high-voltage transmission systems, electrification technologies, and one of the largest installed fleets of power equipment globally. That installed base creates decades of recurring high-margin service revenue, giving the company predictable cash flows long after the initial equipment is delivered. The company's latest quarterly results reinforced why institutional investors remain so optimistic. GE Vernova generated $24.2 billion in new orders, representing 88% organic growth. While revenue climbed 22% to $11.1 billion. Adjusted EBITDA reached approximately $1.25 billion, with margins expanding from 8.5% to 11.3%. Even more impressive, the company produced $5.1 billion in free cash flow during the quarter, bringing first half free cash flow to nearly $9.9 billion. Meanwhile, its total backlog expanded to an enormous $176 billion, providing years of revenue visibility. The biggest catalyst continues to be its power segment, [music] where orders surged 135% as utilities race to secure high-efficiency gas turbines for AI-driven electricity demand. Management also increased its reserved gas turbine backlog from 100 GW to 116 GW, with expectations of reaching at least 125 GW by year-end. On the electrification side, data center-related orders exceeded $5 billion in just the first half of 2026, already more than double the amount booked during all of 2025. While equipment backlog grew to over $40 billion. Although the wind business remains a near-term challenge, the broader investment thesis continues to strengthen. As artificial intelligence dramatically increases global electricity consumption and utilities accelerate grid modernization, GE Vernova is no longer simply benefiting from the AI boom. It is helping build the electrical backbone that makes that boom possible. The second company that perfectly aligns with this infrastructure rotation is Constellation Energy, ticker symbol CEG. If GE Vernova is helping build the electrical backbone of the AI economy, then Constellation Energy is supplying one of the most valuable inputs of all, reliable, around the clock, carbon-free electricity. As hyperscalers race to build larger AI data centers, the conversation is no longer just about faster processors. It's about securing enough dependable power to keep those facilities running 24 hours a day. Constellation is America's largest producer of carbon-free energy, operating the nation's biggest fleet of nuclear power plants alongside natural gas, hydro, wind, solar, and one of the country's largest energy marketing businesses. It also serves approximately 2.5 million residential, commercial, and industrial customers, including many Fortune 100 companies. Unlike a traditional regulated utility, Constellation combines stable contracted cash flows with exposure to wholesale electricity markets, allowing it to benefit as power demand continues to rise. Its acquisition of Calpine further strengthened its generation portfolio by adding approximately 27 gigawatts of natural gas and geothermal capacity, expanding its ability to meet the surging electricity needs driven by artificial intelligence. What truly differentiates Constellation is the scarcity value of its nuclear fleet. Building a new nuclear plant can take well over a decade, while AI infrastructure is expanding today. The company controls more than half of the US merchant nuclear fleet, making it one of the few operators capable of supplying hyperscalers with dependable, carbon-free baseload power. Long-term agreements with companies like Microsoft and Meta demonstrate how valuable these assets have become as technology companies pursue aggressive AI expansion alongside ambitious clean energy commitments. Perhaps the most intriguing catalyst is what hasn't yet been fully monetized. Management still has roughly 147 terawatt-hours of uncontracted nuclear generation available for future agreements. As demand for electricity continues to outpace supply, that inventory gives Constellation significant strategic flexibility to negotiate additional long-term contracts over time. Combined with management's expectation for continued earnings growth through 2029, supportive energy policy, and rising AI-driven electricity demand, Constellation is increasingly evolving from a traditional utility into one of the most strategically important power companies in America. The final company on the list is Energy Fuels, ticker symbol UUUU, and it may be the most overlooked opportunity of the three because it provides exposure to two industries that are becoming increasingly critical to the future of AI, clean energy and global supply chains. While most investors still think of Energy Fuels as a uranium producer, management has spent the last several years transforming the business into a vertically integrated supplier of uranium, rare earth elements, and advanced magnetic materials. The very resources needed to build nuclear reactors, electric vehicles, wind turbines, defense systems, robotics, and AI infrastructure. Its uranium business alone provides a strong foundation. Energy Fuels owns approximately 99.4 million pounds of uranium reserves and resources and operates the White Mesa Mill in Utah, the only fully permitted and operating conventional uranium processing mill in the United States. During the first half of 2026, the company produced roughly 1.6 million pounds of finished uranium while continuing to build inventory rather than aggressively selling into the spot market, reflecting management's confidence in the long-term supply-demand outlook for nuclear fuel. The company also maintains one of the industry's lowest production costs, around $36 per pound, giving it a competitive advantage as more countries expand nuclear power to meet rising electricity demand. But the bigger story extends well beyond uranium. Through a series of strategic acquisitions, Energy Fuels is assembling one of the western world's few fully integrated mine-to-magnet supply chains. That means the company now controls assets spanning rare earth mining, processing, separation, metal and alloy production, and permanent magnet manufacturing. These magnets are essential components used in electric vehicles, industrial automation, advanced defense systems, robotics, and high-performance electric motors. At a time when China continues to dominate much of the global rare earth supply chain, governments across North America and Europe are investing billions to develop domestic alternatives, placing companies like Energy Fuels in an increasingly strategic position. The company has already begun commercial production of separated rare earth oxides at White Mesa, and recently completed pilot-scale production of heavy rare earth elements such as dysprosium and terbium. It also secured a conditional $725 million US government loan commitment to support the expansion of its phase two rare earth processing facility. If management successfully executes this long-term strategy, Energy Fuels could evolve from being viewed primarily as a uranium producer into one of the most important suppliers of critical minerals supporting the next generation of AI infrastructure electrification and energy security. Morgan Stanley believes the next phase of this bull market won't simply reward the biggest names. It will reward the companies building the infrastructure behind the AI revolution, whether it's powering the grid, generating clean electricity, or supplying the critical materials the world depends on, these three businesses are positioned at the center of some of the most powerful long-term trends shaping the global economy.
