Hello everyone. Welcome to MarketBeat Monday. We are so glad that you are starting out the week with us here at MarketBeat. As usual, we have our MarketBeat analyst Chris Marcotte and Thomas Hughes with us today to do a breakdown of all of the stocks you want us to talk about today. We're going to start out with a very brief little overview of kind of how the market started out the week. I'm looking at the heat map right now, guys, and it looks like there is quite a bit of red out there. Uh Chris, what's that saying that you said? Uh why are we seeing red today? >> Uh rinse lather repeat, Bridget. It's the idea that so there's really been no progress in the Iran war. Uh the ceasefire ends today. Oil's up, stocks down. That's been a pattern we've seen for the last 3 months at least, probably more like 6 months. And that's literally what you're To me, that's what you're seeing today. You're just oil the price of Brent went up, and stocks fell. And that's I I think that's really as simple as that. >> Yeah, oil's up, stocks down. I think that we have seen that pattern play out time and time again. Frequently happens on a Monday, but really it can happen any day of the week. You never know. It can happen anytime. >> Yeah, but the Mondays are a good time for it to happen because it's just coming in off the weekend, and >> Yep. >> you know. >> Yeah, for sure. Well, anything else that you guys are watching in the market coming up this week that could be some major market movers? Thomas, anything you're watching this week? >> Um I think the big market-moving news this week is going to be retail earnings. We get Home Depot tomorrow, Lowe's, Target the next day, and then Walmart on Thursday. Uh TJX is in the mix Wednesday or Thursday, I think. So, that's pretty much all the most important retailers. We're going to know who's making money, who's not. Um I think generally speaking, retail's going to grow, but the that last retail report was kind of alarming. Uh monthly sales fell unexpectedly, so there could be some weakness in there. Uh but then again, I would say that the leaders are going to continue to lead. Walmart is just the biggest retailer hands down. They're just going to continue to gain share because they're able to bring product to people. I think Target's really bouncing back because people are tired of Walmart. It offers a nice a nice change of pace, a different atmosphere. TJX is going to report well. I mean, the off-price retailers have been really blowing it out the last couple of years. I think nothing has changed with their situation. Uh and so, yeah, retail should be it should be decent. Uh there could be some surprises. Uh but, I think ultimately it'll just align with the long-term trend, which is just that or the we're growing and uh the index the market is expanding. >> Uh retail is a definitely a big week for retail and those reports and those earnings coming up. I want to hear from people in the chat just because I have you here. Off- Oftentimes if we do a single stock video talking about or the retail sector and anything to do with stocks that are in retail, it seems like we don't get as many views and people just don't care as much. I want to hear from you. Are you interested at all in these retail stocks? Do you often watch them and look to add them or you like, "No, I'm that's a sleepy sector. I don't want to hear about retail stocks. I'd rather hear about a different sector." Let me know your thoughts in the comments. I kind of use this to help me figure out what topics to cover during the week. Okay, guys, let's get into some specific names here. Already lots of really great questions coming in the chat very early on today. One of the first ones was about Cerebras. This is a video that Thomas and I just had come out yesterday and then some new news for the stock today had it soaring about 15%. What's going on there, Thomas? >> All right. So, last week it reported earnings and the earnings results showed some clear traction. Uh definitely has demand for the product. They've expanded some partnerships like with AMD or with AWS. Uh they're looking forward to AMD's Helios launch because the Cerebras products are being used architecturally with AMD's products by AWS and by also Open AI. Last week they also announced um a deepening of of their deal of their work with Open AI. So now Open AI is using uh Cerebras uh inference chips for their their latest most advanced model GPT 5.6 Soul. Uh and so that's all being noticed by the analysts. Uh so what we got today was um some positive commentary by Wedbush, which is just highlighting the opportunity. I'm really looking forward to um to the Helios rack-scale availability, which is happening in this quarter and into the next quarter, which is really going to amplify AMD's results, but also I think uh Cerebras results. Uh so being seen in the analyst's activity. Um and so now the stock is responding. Um Offset is that last week's results weren't quite strong enough to get the analysts to really be responding to to the results. So we had some price targets being reduced, uh but that reduction really aligns with uh where the stock price highs are right now. So we're still looking at like a a $100 upside from where we closed today. Um but I think longer term this story has got a lot of legs uh because we're only in the very very earliest phases of inference. Uh these chips are working very well alongside AMD's systems to provide really fast, low latency, um low cost, highly efficient inference. Uh so I I think that it's really going to see a booming business over the next few quarters and the next couple of years. >> Interesting. Yeah, one uh we had a really good question uh a comment on the video we posted yesterday from somebody asking about uh if you think all of the the gains are priced in. So we're talking about this robust outlook. There's a lot of potential growth, but right now if you look at, you know, price to earnings, price to sales, it it very very high valuations right now and even if you look out a couple of years, valuations could still be pretty high. What do you think about that? >> I think the market is not pricing in AMD's strength and uh Cerebras strength is going going alongside AMD's strength, very useful tools for inference. I think that AMD's sales are going to be going at a triple-digit pace on a sequential basis here in the next couple of quarters and sustaining triple-digit year-over-year gains for a year or two. I think Cerebras is going to be right there alongside it because the AMD Helios racks work really well with the Cerebras products. Cerebras products are being designed to natively integrate. They're being made to go together for these inference workloads. Inference is is the next wave, the bigger wave. The infrastructure side of inference is supposed to be more than double the infrastructure side for for model training, which is where Nvidia's strength is. So, if you think about how strong Nvidia's sales have been, AMD is going to be double that. That's what they That's what they say. >> Interesting. Yeah, and I know here's a little preview for those watching. You get a preview of what's coming this week. I know Thomas and I are going to have a video talking about AMD and its new Helios system and the stocks that are going to benefit from that. So, we'll have that coming up a little bit later on this week. And then, Chris and I are going to talk about the AI infrastructure stocks, too. So, we're going to have some single stock videos talking about both of those topics. So, we'll dive into that more on the channel this week. All right, let's get into some more stocks cuz there are so many tickers coming in in the chat. I love to see it, everyone. We'll get to as many of these as we can. This is one of our early earlier questions. Uh what is Corning? >> So, Corning is a company that, you know, a lot of investors of uh of a certain age would would would know it for its glassware and and ceramics and other things like that. But really, the story with Corning is it's become a it's become a leader in some of the sectors that are the hottest day. It's been the provider of glass for the iPhone for many years and that's got some investors excited because Apple is talking about coming out with their all glass iPhone you know, perhaps as early as next year and that's one of the catalysts right now that's that's driving interest in the stock. This company's also now in the photonics area. And we know that how hot photonics is right now. That's got investors excited about it. This is a company that analysts are raising their price targets. It's It is a It is a very interesting play just in terms of several categories that are exploding right now and and it's not a company that a lot of people would think about, but it's it's a really it's a really um Uh there's a lot of bullish sentiment on the stock right now. >> Uh the thing that stands out to me most there is an all glass iPhone and thinking of how much more my kids could break my phone with an all glass like so many opportunities to replace all of the glass on a phone like that, but anyways. [laughter] >> And you could do it and you have the privilege of doing it for only $2,000, Bridget. >> Right. Right. Right. Right. Right. Uh with this company, let's go back and look at this chart because I think that it is wildly impressive looking at 165% growth this year. Um and that's not even at the high. We saw a huge high up to 250 a couple of weeks ago. What do you think about this massive price correction we saw just a couple of weeks ago? >> It's It's falling in line with the general data center story. It's It's the because again, the most of the drive up that you're seeing that you're that's 165, that's the photonics element of it. I mean, everybody was thinking you're going to need the photonics because we can't get the copper fast enough. So, you need the the way to connect these data centers and I think it's pulling back a little bit because again the story got ahead of the stock and we've talked about that a lot but so it's pulled back a little bit. I think that's making it very attractive. Again, if you look at where where a lot of analysts have it it's trading slightly ahead of its consensus target right now but >> Yeah. >> look at where some of the other but if you look at some of those price targets since the company reported earnings in late July, you're seeing 220, you're seeing you know over 200. So I think there's still a lot of meat left on the bone here with this pullback and I think investors this is a good time to get involved with Corning. >> Okay, a great name. Thanks for bringing that one to our attention for the person who brought that stock in the list. Again, there's so many different names here. I'm going to have you do let's do AGPU next. This is X Compute. I'll have you talk about that company and then we'll do a second one at the same time. QNC, we'll do a quick run through on both of those names next time you are up. Let's go to the super chat Thomas. HAPN, what is this company? >> Yeah, HAPN that used to be Lending Club. They recently IPO'd and and renamed themselves. So the bank looks good. They've got decent earnings supported by higher interest rates. We have an outlook for interest rates to if not uh be increased into at least stay where they are for for the foreseeable future. So that's that's driving pretty pretty strong cash flow and earnings for them. The last report I think they were showing strong originations, uh raised [snorts] their guidance for originations. Uh so to me that's kind of a dual tailwind for for their growth going forward cuz they're going to have strong originations but also strong interest rates to kind of combine together to drive that revenue and drive that cash flow. Uh so it looks like a pretty decent play. Um the post IPO action is you know volatile as you would expect it but it's kind of within a range and the market is actually kind of kind of normalizing within the middle of that range. So we we might see a pretty uh solid bottom begin to form here pretty soon and uh possibly, you know, get a launchpad for a rally to form. >> Yeah, I wanted to ask a little bit more about the the IPO and the timeline. When you see a stock like this, I It sounds like you're fairly positive on it, but any benefit to holding off until a little bit further away from IPO, or can you sometimes um get in at a good a good entry point even though it's close to that IPO? >> Um post-IPO action's always a little bit weird. Uh sometimes you just got to bite the bullet and take it and hold it, and sometimes uh it pays to wait. Uh this one, it seems like it's establishing like support like in the middle of that range. Uh it could It could fall, um but again, this is a pretty well-established company. It's not one that just started out of nowhere. Um rebranded transferring Yeah, so it's been around for a long time, so it's not like this is a new company. It'll just take a little bit of time for the market to kind of like uh get its feedback under it, but I wouldn't expect to see the typical post-IPO um volatility that's that you would from from from other IPOs. >> Okay, very good. Let's get on to the other one that was at super chat. This is UPLD. What is this company? >> Upland Software. They uh provide a variety of AI cloud-based services for businesses. Um I think the biggest thing for me is that it looks like a lot of random kind of variable business services that maybe somebody could get somewhere else. Um there's a lot of of of of of companies that are offering really comprehensive AI cloud-based services. Um so, you'd probably be able to get a lot of these services with some of those other products. Um at the same time, one for 10, we just had a reverse split. So, that's uh one for 10, yeah. One for 10. Yeah, a reverse stock split, so that's not telling me a lot of anything anything good. Uh stocks that get reverse splits are usually um on the way out as far as uh they're being viable businesses. >> Mhm. There's a couple of different things here that I do think are are slightly interesting just looking into some of the different pages. It looks like they had a a decent earnings that was just uh on Friday last week or on the 14th um last week. And then also wanted to have you look at that analyst forecast. I think maybe that could be one of the reasons that somebody brought this stock up is looking at 150% upside and you see some price targets of 1250 even $15 on a stock that's trading just under five right now. It might look appealing uh but do you think that there's more to that because of that stock split? >> Let me see what you're looking at here real fast. >> Yep. >> We got Well, one there's three analysts covering this stock. That's not very many, so you can't put a lot of faith in those ratings. Of those three, one is rating a sell. The most recent one came out in July, so that was $10. These are all pretty recent. Um I mean, 30 35 was last year. So, the So, the ratings this year is 10 and $15. That is a pretty decent upside. I think these guys are trying to price in, you know, the potential for for for for what the stock could do. Uh but like I've been saying, there's not really a all that much coverage. Uh there's not that much conviction in the analyst outlook. Um I think that uh this company could be out-competed by other businesses. And with the reverse stock split in play, um I I don't see it as being a really good way to trade on AI. There are some some better ways to do it. One thing I want to look at and see if I can find it is the short interest. But we're not showing it. Let's see if I can find it somewhere else. >> Yeah, we don't have that data on the site right [clears throat] now. Just looking at the chart, I it's also hard to ignore how how rough the chart does look. That price action is is really hard to see uh for a company like this, too. >> Right. Right. So, I'm not finding a lot of of short interest, you know, but like you were saying uh the the price action is not favorable. We're trading down near lows. Uh we did a reverse stock split just a, you know, maybe two or three months ago it looks like. Um haven't really gotten a lot of traction since then. Uh the results were okay. But, it's not uh not anything that's really making anybody get excited about it. I mean, they are profitable. They got that going for them. >> Yeah. Yes, I noticed that in the earnings, too. That was interesting. >> So, well, right. And so, look at this. Um 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 consecutive 14 consecutive quarters of of business contraction. >> Mhm. >> Uh that's not good. >> Yeah. >> So, it looks like um maybe they're trying to do that pivot >> with software names Appen. Now, we had a couple people ask about both of those, so we'll have you look at Appen Now next. Also, just wanted to know if you are new to MarketBeat Mondays, you've not been here before, if you can't tell, these guys are doing a live look at some of these stocks. So, you just throw a name that you like, a ticker you want them to talk about, and they're going to have a cold look at these names and try to find as much information as they can. So, this is an interesting company, Bridget, because when you brought it up to me, you you said that somebody had commented on the fact that we had talked about this word. You and I were both looking at each other like, we've never talked about this company before, but we did. But, it was called Predictive Oncology. And they So, they changed their name from Predictive Oncology to X Compute uh in December 2025. But, what investors really need to understand about that is this was not just a name change. This is really a fundamental pivot for the company. Um so, the company was in the um oncology um modeling stage, so to speak. They were uh they were trying to come up with um uh using using AI and using different ways to try to uh find new cancer therapies. And um of that that was the sector they were working on. And they've made a pivot to AI infrastructure. So, what they're doing is they're selling compute capacity um and the stock has been jumping uh just today because of the deal it signed with its partner uh Duos Technologies, and they're um they're providing you know, again, this this compute capacity for several customers. And that's the company said it recently in in its earnings report that it's got a backlog. Um that's what's getting investors excited about the stock is it is this idea of it's made this pivot. It's now generating revenue. It's not profitable yet, but it again, it's generating revenue whereas before it was really not generating any revenue. And that's where that's what this is coming from. >> Yeah, I feel like this one is a new enough company that's it's changed enough that I don't have a lot of data on it. So, I'm looking to see we don't have short interest information, things like that, or even analyst forecast of any kind yet, either. So, I >> Right. >> Yeah, it's an interesting >> something to be concerned about. Yeah. >> Yeah, there's none of that yet. Okay, well, a good look at that one. Let's go on to QNC. I'm going to kind kind of to through stocks today cuz I want to get to as many as we can if possible. Uh what is QNC? >> So QNC uh the company's name is um Quantum Emotion. Uh ticker symbol is QNC. So this is a This is a company that does quantum computing, but it's really important that investors who aren't familiar with this company understand there's kind of two sides to the quantum computing story. There's the companies that and we've talked about them a lot on this channel. It's the D-Waves, the Rigettis, the IonQs that are doing the the quantum computing on the one end. So QNC's operating on the other side of this as almost as a cybersecurity, as a way of trying to um work on encryption for quantum computing so that it can be protected against cyber threats. And that's what we're That's what we're So it's a it's a company that's trying to fight cyber threats that can exist from quantum computing. That's where this company's coming in. >> This is really interesting. We again we cover quantum computing stocks all the time, but it is interesting to see a specific player who's coming out just for the cybersecurity essentially uh to fight against the quantum computing power in the future. Um and I also think there's not a lot of short interest and often times when we see stocks this small that are still very new and up and coming we usually see a pretty high short interest. Right now that doesn't seem to be the case. Any concern for you just about the overall size of the company? It looks like it's less than a $500 market cap. So still uh pretty small company. Is this a chance to get in fairly early especially on a pullback? I mean right now that the stock looks like it's down um from its highs for sure. >> Yeah, I would think so. Um you know you're you're going to want to do your research on the company and see uh you know and see what they've been doing as far as I'm trying to see here. MarketBeat didn't show any earnings data, so I'm wondering if they've got anything of consequence to report there. Um in terms of revenue and how how close they are to profitability and all that stuff but that that's the type of thing that I'd want to be that I'd want to be watching if I were investor is, you know, uh what's their realistic path to So, I'm looking here uh the quarter that just did August 14th. Or the I'm sorry, the reported the report date was August 14th. Um they brought in revenue of um 1.48 K. Uh they were expected to bring in 25,000, so that's that's a miss. Um earnings they they had a loss earnings per share loss that was greater than expected, so um I think you kind of see why the stock's a little bit under pressure is is because of that's that's not a that's not a great earnings report for them, but I think if you believe in the long-term story and the long-term idea that if you're going to have um if you're going to have quantum computing, you're going to need a way to protect it from cyber threats, this is one of the companies, but again, I think that's the other thing to notice, it's only one of the companies that's going to be in this space. >> Interesting. Uh one other question to bring up a point that's coming up in the comments quite a bit right now is calling this a long-term play and there's a comparison to quantum computing and space stocks all having that three to five, maybe even 10-year timeline to really truly being profitable, but these are kind of long-term investments. That's some of the chat that's happening right now. What do you think about that, Chris? >> Oh, I agree. I I I think that's that's absolutely true. You have to You We We talk about a lot of stocks and it seems like we talk about it more in MarketBeat Monday, but yeah, you're talking about stocks like this, stocks that are in space that are just the the story got ahead of a lot of these stocks and now it's pulling back but it doesn't mean they're bad investments if you're willing to hold them for a long time and if you're going to follow them closely because the story could change. When a company's this small it's prime to get bought out by other companies but I think the quantum story is is real it's happening but it's it's still going to take some time to play out. >> Right. Quantum to me is definitely has has a future but when when it happens is really uncertain and then like the company doing the quantum security they're trying to make software to help protect systems that aren't even built. Right? So it's like how much risk do they have of disruption or of just ultimately failing you know because >> Right. >> You know so it's and then looking at them saying you know it's a long term investment so if you've got the money to just put into it and forget about it then you're a long term investor otherwise you're talking about near term volatility and risk between now and then so in that regard depending on who you are what you're trying to do this could be a better watch list stock. You watch this stock until the sector gains traction until it shows signs of being an actual revenue generating potentially profitable company because until then it's a cash burning company a speculation that's going to be driven by market sentiments and in the near term to mid term before it reaches viability it's going to have up swings and down swings and and that's what makes it a a risky investment you know to me. >> Yeah. I like this conversation I know Market Moving Monday we normally go stock by stock by stock but there's so many different tickers that people have said in the space sector and their names we cover often we covered them last week we covered them the week before so let's just have a general discussion on some of the names in space and the up and down volatility we're seeing in Rocket Lab and Redwire and ASTS all the traditional names. I know there was another new headline today on SpaceX. I think some of them some more shares opened up today, correct? On SpaceX? >> yeah, there might have been a lockup. I don't know about that. What I saw over the weekend was that Nvidia disclosed a big stake, so they're buying into it. Um as far as space stocks in general, I'm looking at that Intuitive Machines today. We talked about them last week, I think. Uh they're making lots of um equipment to help people get to the moon. They're establishing a really comprehensive vertically integrated supply chain for for moon-based services and operations uh for telemetry and communications and for getting to the moon. Um they're critical to NASA for delivering NASA's stuff from space to the moon surface. Um so they're they're gaining some traction. The stock price is rebounding right now. Uh certainly as part of the whole SpaceX hoopla, the stock, you know, went wicked high earlier this year based on the expectation for space. It has since corrected by like see, 44 to >> Right. >> to 12. Yeah, by like 75% just about. Uh but, you know, now it's rebounding from long-term moving average, uh which to me looks like a a solid support base. That's where the smart money is buying. Uh so we're rebounding from there. I would use that um you know, as as a as a buying trigger. And again, you know, if you're going to speculate on it, small positions. Keep watching it and, you know, build a position on dips and just wait for that news flow to to uh to advance. >> Yeah. All right, very good. Chris, I'm going to give you uh some stocks to look up for the next time and then we're going to go on to those two software stocks. Again, we have a lot of tickers today. I love to see all of the different names coming up right now. Let's do um we had a couple of people asking about um uh rare earth mining. I'm going to see USAR I know is one that that one also comes up all of the time, but let's go ahead and cover USAR. I think there was another um I'll have you look up USAR and then do LPG at the same time. So, LPG I think is a natural gas company. And then USAR um that update you can take a look at both of those, Chris. Thomas, let's look at let's look at AppLovin first. >> AppLovin. Right. So, AppLovin is a uh traditionally um provides publishers with ad spaces with mobile games. All right. So, the legacy business is tied to mobile games, but not a mobile gaming business. It's a high-margin ad platform. Uh the story today is that it's trying to transition into a more AI-powered platform providing AI tools, but also expanding away from just being a a pure game serving platform to serving a broader array of um of verticals. [snorts] Uh See, right now verticals Uh what's hurting the company right now, I think it's some weak uh weak uh weak results, not really showing the traction that we thought it was going to have. Uh cautious guidance led to some downgrades and some price target reductions. Uh but within that, we've got 24 rating as a as a moderate buy, a 66% buy-side bias. Um and 80% upside at the consensus. I mean, there is potential for rebounding here. This is one uh you know, near-term speculation, potentially a long-term investment, uh but waiting for it to to show some traction sufficiently to get the analyst re- re-catalysed. Uh but looks like a good play. Right now is certainly struggling with some headwinds and uh needing to find some traction. >> Yeah, um do you think Again, you may have already mentioned this a little bit, but let's talk about what it's going to take to to get them to turn around. You look at the upside what analysts are saying about this one, showing 78% upside. Do you think that that's realistic? Do you think that the stock can recover some of that ground? Or is that are those price targets really going to start to change soon because we have been struggling so much on on the price action on this one? >> Well, they're going to have to start showing some better traction with their the revenue. Uh they are growing, you know, pretty solidly, 52% the last the last the results. Um but it did miss expectations. I think one thing that the market is misinterpreting though is the company's position as a cash generating machine, even though the revenue missed, um earnings were very robust and also outperformed. Uh so within this, you know, yeah, you got some near-term headwinds, but you've also got an improving profitability story. Uh so to me, that hints at a catalyst could emerge in the upcoming results or, you know, over the winter. Uh but you're going to want to watch and make sure that it actually does start to show those results. Um otherwise, it could just continue to to move lower uh just from lack of market interest. >> [snorts] >> Okay. Let's look at the other one. Uh ServiceNow, there's a couple people saying uh that one went down quite a bit today or had a even more of a drop today. Do we know what's behind that? >> Uh let's see. It dropped 5% today. Yeah, I think ServiceNow is a mid-reversal. This is one of the worst hit stocks from the AI apocalypse fears the spring. Um also one of the best positioned to implement agentic AI. It is absolutely showing some traction in its results. It's been shifting to a more modern um uh pricing model, improving its margins. Uh the guidance to me was pretty strong. Let me double-check this and make sure I'm not misremembering. >> [sighs] >> Yeah, strong results, uh good profitability. Right. Um AI right. I Yeah, I I that I think ServiceNow is in I think it's showing traction. I think that over the course of the next few quarters we'll see continued traction in the results and continued traction in the stock price. Right now, the trigger point for traders is going to be right around 135. That looks like the baseline for the pattern. We get a break above that, this stock could go 83 to 133. That's like 50 bucks. You could be up to near $200 pretty quickly once we get that that pivot across the inflection point, which is right around 135 140. >> Interesting. Yeah, and this is one you have been bullish on for a long time. You're This isn't a new take on ServiceNow. You've absolutely been bullish on the stock for a while. >> Yeah, it's a good company. It's It's well-run. It makes money. It's making the AI pivot. It's It's in a great position to deploy authentic AI because it was already automating businesses just going to a different way. So now it just needs to get into the AI AI push, which is what it's doing. Um Analysts are are bullish. You know, we've got 20% upside. 30 42 rated a moderate buy. 37 are buyers. Price target trend is is moving up again after a year of it moving down. So to me, that just shows a bottom in sentiment. Some of the new price targets are in the 160 to 240 range. That's pretty solid. That definitely puts us above the trigger point. So yeah, it looks to me like right now, the market is bottoming. It's being underpinned by its results, but also by analyst sentiment who have reverted to price target increases after having reduced price targets for the last year. And the new fresh targets are above our inflection point. To me, this is a stock that's just waiting to make its move. While it's down, it looks like a good time to buy it. >> Okay, very good. Thomas, the next stocks I'm going to have you cover Uh someone has asked for a while, so I'm going to get these two out there. It's S E S and O P T T. I don't know either of those tickers, so if they're too tiny to talk about, let me know, but S E S and O P T T. All right. Um Chris, let's do USAR first. >> Sure. Um so, you know, we were just talking and we had that little segment where we were saying, you know, there's stocks that you might want to have and put on your watch list, but then get ready to buy it when there's a story. USAR is one that if you've had it on your watch list, you might want to be thinking about getting ready to to buy the stock. So, uh the company just reported earnings a little while ago and what they're starting to show is that they've got uh they've got contracts in hand, they've got memoran- memorandums of understanding in hand. Uh they are going to be delivering um some uh some magnets by the end of the year. So, this is a company that you could see a real acceleration in revenue um and uh they're already the company's already profitable and you can start seeing an acceleration from that. So, this is one that you're that investors may want to be keeping a pretty uh close eye on here. Actually, I'm sorry. I said they were already profitable. They're not already profitable, but but they're starting to generate significant revenue at least compared to what they were generating before. And um this is a this is a company that you're going to want to watch because the one thing that I would say, Bridget, is this is an integrated company. So, they they're not just mining for the rare earths, but they're also doing that refining that key refining process that we've talked about before. We said, you know, China dominates that right now and USAR is one of the companies that's trying to get on that. So, this is one of those companies I said, yeah, if if you've had it on your watch list, now might be the time that you want to start thinking about uh starting a position in it because it it now is starting to generate um some real revenue that's likely to move higher and it's going to move closer to profitability. My one concern here, if I had any concern as an investor, is the stock seems to be a stock that traders love, so they're getting in and out of it quick, and they're selling it on any profit, which isn't bad, but it it's frustrating if you're a long-term investor but >> Yeah, it does seem like the long-term story is incredibly bullish on really a lot of this sector. I mean, to see >> Well, I mean >> to see analysts very excited, to see those price targets significantly higher from where the stock is trading right now. Um, I agree this this has always been interesting. I think the long-term investors are just waiting to see when that big payoff is going to come. What kind of a timeline do you see on this company? Cuz again, this is a name that probably comes up every week, if not every other week on MarketBeat Monday. I think there's a lot of retail investors who are really anticipating this sector to do well for them. How long could it be before that volatility kind of levels out and we start to see some actual gains here? >> Oh, you know, I I'm going to say the volatility is still going to be in place probably for several quarters. I mean, that's not you're going to have to start seeing a meaningful amount of revenue come in, probably see this company get much closer to profitability, um, than than they are. And I'm not They're They're making progress towards that end, but it's it's going to you know, it's going to take a a minute to get there. Um, uh, let me just check one thing right here. Yeah, that's what I thought. It's It's not owned very much by the institutions, and I think again, a lot of that's just because of what's up, but when you think about where this company is, what sector it's in, this is a company that is the the the story is a multi-year story. It's a multi- It's possibly a multi-decade story. We're going to need the rare earths. That's not That's not debatable, and more importantly, we're going to need that ability to refine it and try to get as much of that supply chain away from China as possible. This is one company that's helping to do that. >> Okay, interesting. I I just had it up because I saw an article on our website that I was researching earlier. I just pulled up the chart for TMC. I know I didn't really give you time to look at it, but TMC, another metals mining company. >> the metals company. >> Yeah, metals company the metals company. This one's down 38% year-to-date. This is much closer to the bottom in the stock. And I know you haven't really had a chance to look at earnings or things like that, but do you think that this could also be a good time to to try to get in on this one or could it go even further even lower than where it's at right now, even though we're almost at that 52-week low right now? >> Yeah, so I'm going to say and Thomas may want to throw in on this because I know he's talked about the metals company before. They're I it's a it's a rare earth story and I like it, but it is a more specialized niche player in terms of the deep sea element of it. So again, I would say this one to me might still be on the watch list side of the equation, but I think USAR is one that you're going to probably want to start thinking if you want to start taking a position now is now might be the right time with USAR. >> I I think the metals company is a riskier, more speculative, borderline science fiction play on on rare earths, but I think it's one that we may see emerging as um like defense critical, national security critical because those are the hints that were coming out of the the release last week. Um so China is the world's leader in looking for rare earths under sea. They're like they're blowing it away. Um the company CEO, TMC CEO, didn't give any specifics, but he did comment on that he saw some information that made him kind of go, "Wow, it's like that much?" All right. So at the same time TMC is being aided by the Trump administration help opening the path to to to to to registration and and and licensing and commercialization, bypassing international laws to have United States licensing for them to do this. I think there was also a release last week from the government that's kind of They're They're They're definitely helping the the rare supply chain. There is some supports in place for this company. As far as their own commercialization timeline, the application process for their license was delayed a little bit. So, one one of their timeline milestones got pushed back from January to like maybe March or April, but it didn't really affect their timeline to commercialization because their ship their their recovery ship's not going to be ready until like November. >> Yeah. >> Hm. >> So, when the ship is ready and they know where they're going, they're going to go out there and start recovering these nodules and those are going to start making money immediately. So, it's just a matter of getting that approval and I don't know why it wouldn't come. Just talking about Trump and the way he's been doing things, he's going to tell whoever it is, "Just do it because we need it, right?" And then the whole supply chain because because the metals that they're going to get are all very critical for batteries and EVs and electrification and for and for defense applications. So, I I I I see this thing happening. Right now it's still kind of over here, but it's over there in this way when the people that are smart and know about it are like, "Wow, look at this thing over here, right?" So, keep it on the watch list. I I think that TMC will be surprising us over the next year. >> Interesting. All right, thanks for diving into that, Thomas. And I I almost missed it. I almost forgot LPG, Chris. Let's do a quick look at that one. >> Yeah, no problem. I can do this this this one's really quickly. So, this is a company that they operate a fleet of a fleet of tankers. And they ship liquefied petroleum gas. This is a really interesting story. If you look at the revenue growth and the earnings per share growth year over year, it's it's really strong and it's likely to stay that way. So there's we all obviously all of us know about the fact that the Strait of Hormuz is effectively closed, but that works to um that works to LPG's advantage because um what's happening is uh the de facto closure of the Strait is causing companies that want to transport LPG to find different routes, and that's what Dorian has leaned into. Excuse me, we should say that uh the the company is Dorian LPG, the ticker symbol is LPG. And they've essentially pivoted their fleet um almost entirely away from the Middle East. And so now they're they're pursuing routes through the Gulf Coast, through Asia, and that's that is a situation that I was just hearing some people talk about this morning. That's a situation that's likely to stay in place even after there there comes to be some sort of resolution with the Strait of Hormuz. Companies have already started saying, "We're already starting to look for alternative shipping arrangements." And they're likely to just say, "You know what? We're going to keep doing what we're doing even after the Strait is open because we just don't want to go through that headache anymore." So, >> So, the the US LNG story is is building infrastructure, building capacity on the Gulf Coast to get the gas from these places to the Gulf where it can be stored and and and and liquefied and shipped onto the ships internationally because the international story is really what's driving LNG. It's like there's uh we have the capacity, we have uh the producers, and we now have the infrastructure to deliver it, and now all these countries, and Europe especially, are leaning into LNG for their industries and businesses. >> Yeah. >> Yep. >> Uh what the radio in the comments says uh free cash flow's good, healthy dividends, too. I just say an overall good company to look at. So, thank thanks for bringing that one up. We haven't talked about natural gas. >> Well, I Well, that's what's good about the LNG business in general. I mean, it's like the producers are are like the the energy companies, and they're just pumping money out of the ground, but then like the real LNG plays are the middle men like KMI uh that are the pipelines and the and the storers and the and the shippers, and uh they're just making money on on the transportation of product, and the transportation of product is is growing, and it's being supported by lower prices cuz um LNG prices are down pretty hard compared to where they were when it first came out on the market, you know, 5 10 years ago. Um so, yeah, there's a lot a lot of demand for LNG. >> Okay, very good. We've got a couple of super chats here. I didn't miss you, Brian. Thank you so much for doing uh super chat. Uh Chris, I'm going to have you look up DINO and BVS. Uh that's Those are Brian's requested stocks. DINO and BVS. And then we've got another super chat that just came in. Thank you for that one. Uh uh Thomas will be looking up COHU next. Uh but let's take COHU, but I want to take a look at those two smaller stocks that I gave you. I'm assuming they're smaller stocks. I really don't know. Um SES, what is that one? >> All right. So, SES is a startup battery company. Uh they make um an AI-powered battery. The AI helps the battery's performance. Uh their their chemistry um provides higher density and higher discharge rates, but it also comes with um some other um other problems like catching on fire. Um and so, the AI part is helping the batteries to function without these risks coming into play. Um so, the batteries themselves are are really applicable to things like drones. We know the drone market is really big. Uh so it certainly looks like a pretty decent play. It's begun to ramp products. Uh it's going to start having a significant revenue ramp in the back half of this year. Uh all looks pretty good. Uh but also still a very small company, just about 5 or 6 million in revenue the last uh report. Faces plenty of execution risks with ramping. Um but otherwise looks like an okay, you know, speculation on batteries and drones. >> Yeah, why do you think that the the so much red in the the chart right now? Why is it down so much? >> Well, right. So that's probably market getting all excited about the the potential opportunity, but then looking at the reality of of cash burn and the fact that uh you know that it takes time for production to ramp, lots of production risks. Uh so right now it looks like we could be at or near a bottom. Over the next, you know, two or three quarters we'll see for sure if this is the bottom uh and and see some um you know, uh affirming news and the results that show that the company's actually gaining traction and will be able to make that pivot from just being like a hey, we have this thing that works to hey, we have this thing and we can deliver it at scale. >> All right. I I can't We were talking about a battery company. I have to just interject here. We've had people asking about AMPX again the whole time. So we got to do an update there really quick. AMPX, those of you who who follow this stock for a while, this is another battery stock. Analysts are super bullish on this name, but it is also having a lot of red right now. It's down significantly from its highs. What's going on there? >> Well, the same thing. It's just uh market being concerned about execution risk. Uh but the results show traction. Being down as much as it was, the last results came out two or three weeks ago. We've had a rebound since then, showing support at a critical level. Uh to me the uptrend is still in play. We're just going to be waiting for those subsequent releases to show us uh the company, you know, with traction, selling product, um more importantly, outperforming expectations, and uh providing a a a clearer pathway to profitability. >> Yeah, one thing that is is really interesting to me looking at institutional ownership between these two battery stocks. You've got AMPX, which is a much larger battery company, has just 5% institutional ownership versus SES, which is a very small company. I think that one had like 30% institutional ownership. Why are institutions um really not getting into AMPX yet? >> Uh I really couldn't say. I mean, it seems like uh like they like they should be. Uh they just haven't uh they just haven't um had had a reason to get into it yet, I guess. Um I I would like to be able to give a better answer than that. It's one of the things that I've been watching, and it's just like, "Wow, when this starts happening, the stock price really will get traction, the volatility will start to reduce, there'll be more sustainable up up updrafts in the price action." Um but when that'll happen, but I I really I I don't I don't know. >> Yeah, it's hard to say. All right, well, thank you for doing a quick update on that. Let's do the other one, um OPPT. Is that an interesting one to look at, too? >> Right, that's a penny stock. They provide a couple of different uh services for for maritime businesses. They've got the data, um energy, and robotics. Um it looks like uh Huh. >> [sighs and gasps] >> Yeah, it looks like they might be in a little bit of financial distress. They're looking at strategic alternatives. That pretty much means they're trying to figure out how to keep going with the small amount of money they may or may not have anymore. Uh definitely burning cash. Uh the last earnings report they had just under 2 million in revenue. That's really not very much. Um so could be interesting, but this is definitely one for the watch list. Um you know, if you've got money that you don't care about, you can get a get a small position, you know, it's it's like 20 cents a share, so you you can buy a pretty fair pretty fair amount of shares without spending too much money. Um you could just kind of sit on them and hold them. Uh but I don't really see a lot in the news flow right now that makes me think that this is one that's going to um sustain a rally. >> Yeah. All right, that's a good quick look at those. Thank you for that, Thomas. All right, a super chat for you to look at is c o h u, c o h u. Have you do that one next. And then I think somebody wants us to cover bros, b r o s. I don't know what that one is either. >> Okay, c o h u and b r o s, Thomas. Um Chris, let's take a look at these other super chats, d i n o. What is that? >> So, d i n o, this is a um this is a diversified energy manufacturing company. And it's it uh So, this is again um kind of getting into that refinery uh refining story. The company had a blowout quarter. Uh trying remember when they did that. It was it was fairly recently. Yeah, it was right at the end of July. Um blowout quarter if you compare it to the year before, I mean earnings per share were up. Um more than more than triple, I think, by by my math here. And yeah, and and revenue was up and and you would expect that because it's a it's a company that's um they're they're they're what they're doing right now is is in desperate need in terms of refining and and doing all that. So, so they're the stock is doing really well. Uh the valuation is still pretty cheap even after the run it's made cuz it's up about 35% in the last 3 months, about 7% in the last week, and it's still trading at around, let's see. Let's see if my thing comes up here. Yeah, it's still trading for on nine times earnings, so that's it's it's still trading at a very effective at a very attractive valuation. Um, Goldman Sachs has named the company it's one of its top stock picks for the year. Um, and it's just uh, you know, this company is just it's in that it's in that sector of things that we need as a nation. We're going to need to be able to refine fuel very quickly, and that's what this company does. >> All right, very good. Let's get on to the other one. BV I guess I do have one follow-up question. I was thinking with how high this is right now, you just shared the price to earnings, I think that's great. Um, is it too high to get in right now? It's up over 100% for the year. Are you too late on this one, or does there still seem to be some upside ahead? >> Um, you know what? I I I'm kind of of the mindset that there's still some upside ahead. Um, I know it's trading ahead of the analyst consensus, but um, I I'm I'm still thinking this is this is got some upside if you and the reality is you're getting a a nice dividend uh, that's been increasing by about 7% over the last 5 years, and it it's a very safe dividend. So, you know, even if you're getting into it and you um, you know, you're getting paid to wait with it. So, I'm I'm okay with getting in on it. I I think the sector still has a long time to run. >> Yeah, this is one of those where I say congrats to those of you who are buying this in the spring. If you were if you were one of the people buying this in the spring, it's been a a really good 6 months for you with this stock. It's been performing really, really well. Um, that's great to see. Okay, let's look at the other one, BVS. >> Yeah, so BVS, this is a company out of North Carolina. They are a medical device company. So this is a you know, this is one of those sectors that a lot of the companies in this sector have kind of gotten beaten up a little bit. Not doing exactly what we thought. I know we've talked Bridget a lot about Intuitive Surgical. Medtronic falls into this too. Those are some of the big large cap players. Uh, Bioventus, which is the name of this company, falls on the other end of the spectrum. This is a very small company, only about 1 Wait, 1.7 billion dollars in market cap. Um, but it's been doing pretty well recently. Uh, let me see here. The chart is it's up about 15% in the last month. It's up 86% year to date. So it's it's been a it's been a great stock and and you know, again, one of the reasons for that is if you look at the company's earnings. Um, you know, the earnings have been strong. Not not tremendously strong year over year, but still they've been growing. Um, the company is uh, they're one of their leading things is they're a leader in non-or non-opioid pain management. Um, in the last quarter, their not their global pain treatments rose 12%. Uh, so that's that's uh, that's one area to watch. It's not a very like a lot of these small cap stocks, it's not heavily covered by analysts. So that's that's you can see there's a lot 21% upside on the stock. That's not necessarily the best indicator cuz again, it's not covered by a lot a lot of companies, but it does have over 62% institutional ownership. So that's that's a nice you know, >> Yeah, for a company of this size, that's a pretty high number for institutional ownership. I also the almost no short interest stands out too for this one. That's not it's a name that people think are pretty solid. I think that The two have been really solid names of stocks that are doing well, have good business. That's that's great to see. Um again, they have run up. So, that is one of the things I know we hear from lots of people who say, "I don't want to hear about a stock after it's run up." But, sometimes there can be an argument made that those momentum stocks are actually the better stocks to buy than the really really down ones, too. Quick thoughts on that, Chris? >> I I I do, and I'd say, "Yeah, sometimes those those momentum stocks can be good to buy." And also, the the the flip side of that is is also something to pay attention because sometimes you see stocks that run up like this one has, and so the contrarian you could say it's due for a pullback, and if you like the long-term story, but you don't like the short-term price, that's what you're going to be looking for. You're going to be looking for that pullback, and you know, maybe there's I'm looking at the chart, maybe there's one getting ready to set up. That could be a good buying opportunity to get in. Um it's again, it's trading about 21% below its analyst price target, so you know, this could be a good buying opportunity. Still got 21% left according to analysts, and we know that it could go higher, you know, could still go higher from there. >> All right, Chris, I got another super chat for you to look at. Probably probably the last stock we'll have you cover today, MBLY. Um I don't know what stock this is, MBLY. >> Mobileye. >> Yeah. >> [laughter] >> We'll take a look at it in just a second. Okay, COHU. What is that one, Thomas? >> Right, this is one of those AI winners that uh you've never heard about. This is Cohu Incorporated. Uh they make semiconductor testing equipment. So, all the semiconductors, the GPUs, the HBM chips coming off the lines for all those data centers, all need to be tested to make sure that they're going to work properly. >> [snorts] >> And this company makes a lot of that equipment. Um its growth and margins have been reflecting the AI boom. Um last report the The is talking about their robust pipeline and expansion, pointing to a really long-term outlook. Uh analysts are very positive on the stock. We've got 10 rating as a buy with a 90% buy-side rating, and it looks like uh 95% institutional ownership with them accumulating at a pace of 6 to 1. So uh to me this is uh this is a winner. Uh the stock is down off its recent high, but currently rebounding. Uh faces some risk with resistance near $70, but I think it's going to blow right through that and keep on moving. So I think uh we can see this one near 95 to $100 probably by year's end. >> Interesting. Yeah, this is one um kind of earlier on I know Chris had said that that the drop that we saw in that stock from in July a few weeks ago was just overall AI trade. And I think this one kind of plays with that that that sharp pullback we saw kind of falls in line with what we saw in a lot of the AI trade, a lot of the bigger names in that the AI story kind of pulled back from July all through July until almost August, and then we saw or seen this recovery in the market. So do you think that's just a broader market story on that pullback there, Thomas, or did it have anything to do with this stock? >> It's just the It's just the market in general and and AI. Um the AI bubble, the the expanding outlook drove the market to where it was around $70 for this stock. Uh the summer pullback was just market angst being afraid of potential disruptions and fears of spending. Uh but we can see right here uh in late July, early August, the market definitely hit a bottom and is rebounding, and that's because the AI boom outlook has only improved since the summer began. Uh so whatever it was that drove the market to its highs back in June and July or May and June is stronger than it was then, so it's still driving the market, and I see new highs coming because of it. >> Yeah, if you bought the dip on that one, that was a good buy the dip opportunity. One other quick thing is I'm seeing a little bit of short interest uh climbing up on this one. Is that a concern for you at all? Is that a bet more against AI than the specific stock? We're at about 17% of the float. >> I think that was just opportunistic selling. Uh they probably sold in pretty heavily when the market was at its peak. Part of why it pulled back as hard as it did, uh but within that I see it being fuel for the rally now uh because there is absolutely an outlook for this company to set new highs. Uh to me that would be a reason to cover my my short my short position. Um and with that in play we can expect short covering uh to help lift the stock price action for the foreseeable future. >> All right, very good. Let's get on to the last one for you. Bros, BROS. What is that one? Is this Dutch Bros Coffee? Huh. >> Yep. >> Got to cover a coffee stock. I don't think we we maybe talked about Starbucks on here once, but I don't think we've talked about one of these for a while. Uh this looks like a lot of red and a really sharp pullback. Uh what what what was that from? >> You talking to me? >> Yes. >> Oh, I thought Chris was doing Bros. I'm sorry. >> I know, that's fine. >> at it. >> Well, take it take a second to look at it and we'll come back to it. That way we'll have give you some time to take a look at what's going on there. >> I I thought that Chris was on that one. >> No worries. MBLY, Chris. Let's get to MBLY. What's that? >> So, this is Mobileye uh Mobileye Global, ticker symbol again MBLY. Uh this is a name in the in the autonomous uh in the autonomous vehicle space. Um so, they've got uh they've got uh decades of self-driving technology and uh ADAS development. Um stock is is has been kind of um Uh it's it's it's been kind of floundering around a little bit. I think it's it's this is a show-me story that's still in place. I think there's a lot of investors that just Uh there's a lot of investors that have a lot of conviction about it and a lot of them are still skeptical about it. It's um the market got impatient with the pace of autonomous driving commercialization. Mobileye took a hit when that happened. Uh they've also got um the the founder and the CEO announced that he plans to step down once a successor's named. That's that's weighing on the stock. Um at the same time you look at their recent earnings and they posted uh they they I just want to confirm that I'm right on this. I think they beat on both the top and bottom line, but um Yeah, they beat on the top and bottom line. The numbers were roughly in line with the year before, which is probably also another thing weighing on the stock. It's they're not they're not seeing that growth year over year. The company's also uh planning to do a pivot into they're going to become uh their own auto- autonomous driving vehicles. They're coming up with their own autonomous driving vehicles. And again, that's something that's hit or miss. Either you believe in it or you don't, and it looks like analysts are kind of split on that right now. You see that in the price targets for the stock. Um it's got a $12.65 price target. It's trading for under $10 right now. So that looks like a good upside, but some analysts are thinking that uh $9, $8 is maybe a better price target for the company, which would say that the stock is overvalued right now. So there's a lot of noise in the stock right now, uh but it's in a sector that is certainly getting a lot of attention in terms of autonomous driving. >> Okay. All right. I I'm already keeping you a little bit late, but we've had enough people in a row asking for NVTS. Can you do Novanta really quick? I think that's what that is. NVTS. And then Qualcomm has been asked quite a few times, too. So we'll just maybe group group discuss both of those two to end the show today. Anything interesting that you found with Dutch Bros? >> Right. So, coffee is a tough business. I think that they hit a peak with their growth about two about 18 months ago or so. Since then they haven't really been wowing the analysts the way that they should have been. The most recent guidance was weaker than expected, so the stock definitely sold off. I think part of what the problem is right now is is Starbucks because they got Brian Nickel at the helm and Starbucks is reinvigorating its business and regaining its own traction. So, that's a major headwind for Dutch Bros. But, also McDonald's has started to lean into afternoon caffeine, too. So, it's possible that they're going to you know dig into some of that share. I see Dutch Bros having good results moving forward, but struggling to impress the market with growth and keeping the market invigorated to keep that stock price moving higher. >> Hot take. I do not like McDonald's coffee. I I like all coffee. That's the one that's not my >> [laughter] >> not my favorite. All right. Let's look at Qualcomm really quick, too. Thomas, take a look at that while I am looking at NVTS. This is a name we've talked about plenty of times. I'm wondering we had enough people ask about it. Did something happen with that stock Chris? >> I I'm looking to try to find the answer to that, Bridget. >> Yeah. Let's see. It looks like it's up about 30 or 27% in the last month. So, it's having a a nice recovery, but it that's after it was down quite a bit from its high. So, this stock was at $31 to start the summer and we're half that right now. And that's even after even after a recovery. >> Yeah. So, I saw it reported earnings in late July. It beat on revenue. It matched what it was supposed to in terms of a loss per earnings per share. The revenue was down year over year. The earnings were about the same. So, the company's not necessarily getting any closer profitability. It's It's down on revenue, but overall analysts seem to be bullish on it. Um >> Hm. >> I'm still digging in here a little bit to try to um >> It is interesting. It's trading pretty close to where analysts say it should be right now. Um We're not seeing a ton of price targets. There's one price target of above 20, uh but the other ones are are you know, right around where the stock is trading right now. >> Yeah, I think a lot of this is coming out with timing on the data center cuz a much of this company's revenue right now is coming from uh the the need for the need to have the equipment in these data centers, and I think there's some analysts who are questioning um you know, when that revenue's going to come in, when that meaningful revenue's going to come in, which could be delayed into mid to late next year. So, um the stock's a little pricey when you when you can when you look at that from that perspective and not knowing when that revenue's going to come in. It's 82 times sales, and it's not profitable yet. So, I think that's what's got some investors concerned about this one. >> Okay, very good. Let's quick look at Qualcomm. This is the latest I think we've got in a long time, but I'm trying to get as many people covered as I can here. Uh Qualcomm, anything interesting happening that has the stock moving? Thomas. >> Well, right. It's the part of the old semiconductor [clears throat] and AI pullback, uh but it's been hit pretty hard compared to some other stocks. Uh right now I think that's because this near-term AI play is not as strong as the long-term play. It's not seeing the data center boom the way some stocks are, but this company's importance is more for the IoT and edge computing and devices down the road. So, once uh the AI models are are trained and we're able to to um start having these applications for the edge, Qualcomm chips are going to be there to help power those things, and that's where the long-term play is. >> All right, very good.
