Now, passing that initial screen is just step one, but the two names I'd actually build around bring something the number alone can't show you. A moat nobody can cross. You saw them near the top of that list, Nvidia and Taiwan Semiconductor. Nvidia's gross margins run around 75%. Last quarter, its revenue more than doubled from a year ago, and it threw off nearly 97 billion in free cash flow... Full transparency, I own both of them, not because I'm chasing AI hype, but because they control bottlenecks nobody can get around and they generate exactly the kind of cash we just talked about.

For about two years, you've been trained to wait for one thing, the rate cut. When rates drop, your stocks rip, everybody eats. You've heard it everywhere. Just be patient. The pivot's coming. Relief is right around the corner. Here's the problem. That trade's already dead. And if you're still positioned for it, you're holding a losing hand and you don't even know it yet. I get it. It's hard to let go of a position when the story you bought it on quietly stops being true and nobody rings a bell. And if you stick around past the ramp up today, I left a little reward waiting for you at the very end, strictly for the real ones who stay until the screen goes black. Because what's happening right now isn't a delay. It's a regime change. And it quietly decides which stocks survive the next year and which ones bleed out. Real quick, if you sell everything the second the Fed headline flashes red, this video is probably not for you. But if you want to understand the machine everybody's reacting to, stick with me. I'm an investor, not a financial adviser. So, do your own research because the thing the crowd keeps calling a delay is really the biggest shift in the rate picture in years. For 2 years, one assumption ran everything. That rates were heading down and staying down. That assumption is now cracking. Inflation still sitting near 3.4%, well above the 2% the Fed says it wants. Long-term rates have climbed to levels we haven't seen in about 20 years. And the market's now pricing a real chance. The next move is a hike, not a cut. When the rate story flips like this, it doesn't hit every stock the same. Some barely flinch. Others quietly fall apart. And this is where a lot of people get tripped up. We've all held a stock because the story sounded good. But if you had to defend why you own it in one clean sentence with a real reason, could you? We've all felt the pull to bail the second the market gets loud, shaken out by people who were never holding anyway. And we've all checked a long-term position 10 times before lunch, treating it like a trade because nothing was actually anchoring us to why we're even in it. And we've all made a big call completely alone with nobody to sanity check it and then watched it go sideways with no one to talk it through. That's not a character flaw. It's just what happens when your whole thesis leans on cheap money. Think of it like the tide. When it's high, every boat floats, even the ones with holes in the hole. Now, the tide's going out, and you're going to find out which boats are going to sink like a rock. So, here's the force almost nobody's talking about. It's not that the Fed is being stubborn, it's that they're boxed in. The government is sitting on a mountain of debt, and just paying the interest on it now costs more than almost anything else in the entire budget. If the Fed slashes rates, it risks lighting inflation right back up. If it doesn't, that debt keeps grinding. Either way, there's steady pressure keeping rates high, and no single meeting changes that. And here's the tell that big money already gets it. Gold's been going higher while everyone argues about the next Fed meeting. That smart capital quietly betting this higher for longer world is the real one, not some temporary detour. So, how do you tell the survivors from the casualties fast without a finance degree? One number, levered free cash flow. All it means is this. It's the cash a company has left after it pays for everything, including the interest on its debt. It's the money that's actually theirs to keep. Now, stick with me because that word levered is the whole trick right now. Regular free cash flow ignores debt payments. Levered subtracts the interest on that debt. In a cheap money world, the gap between those two barely mattered. In a higher for longer world, that gap is everything because the interest is actually what's rising. So this one number is the truth serum for the whole regime. And the best part, you can pull it up on almost any free stock screener in about 10 seconds. This isn't some Wall Street secret. It's sitting right there for anyone who bothers to look. Let me show you what it looks like in the real world. Look at the top of this list. green SanDisk up 56.8% Nvidia at 41.9% Taiwan Semiconductor 25.8%. All of them keeping real cash in their pocket after every single bill is paid. Then you've got Tesla sitting at positive 5.6%. It's not burning cash and that's good, but there's barely any cushion there. If conditions tighten up, that little bit of breathing room disappears fast. Now look at the bottom red. SpaceX at negative 141%. Marathon Digital at 160%. That's not a typo. These companies are torching cash hand over fist. For every dollar they bring in the door, they're spending way more than that. And they can't cover it on their own. So, what happens to a company like that when the rates stay high? Every time they roll their debt, it costs them more. The hole just gets deeper. And to keep the lights on, they've got three moves. one, burn through their reserves, two, borrow more at brutal rates, or three, dilute you by printing brand new shares. These companies are burning cash like a drunken sailor on shortleaf. Those names down there in red, those are the exact companies I avoid. No levered free cash flow, and it's not a business. It's a money suck that can't pay its own bills. Full stop. So, here's your homework, and it's a little uncomfortable. Pull up the names you actually own and check this one number. If any of them show up red, you're not investing in that company, you're funding it. If you want to see how I run those kinds of numbers in real time, that all happens inside my Patreon community. It's where I share exactly what I'm holding, what I'm avoiding, and the reasoning behind it. I've left a link in the description. Now, passing that initial screen is just step one, but the two names I'd actually build around bring something the number alone can't show you. A moat nobody can cross. You saw them near the top of that list, Nvidia and Taiwan Semiconductor. Nvidia's gross margins run around 75%. Last quarter, its revenue more than doubled from a year ago, and it threw off nearly 97 billion in free cash flow. Taiwan Semiconductor makes the most advanced chips on the planet. Margins near 68%. Revenue up better than 40% from a year ago. And it's spending north of $60 billion building factories that nobody else can build. Here's the part that ties it all together. Both are basically sitting on net cash. They barely owe anyone a dime. That's exactly why their lever-free cash flow is so strong. higher rates cannot squeeze them because there's almost nothing to squeeze. Full transparency, I own both of them, not because I'm chasing AI hype, but because they control bottlenecks nobody can get around and they generate exactly the kind of cash we just talked about. Name one competitor that can replace either of them tomorrow. You can't because there isn't one. Owning the category leaders is like betting on the house and over a long enough timeline, the house always wins. And that's the quiet edge in a world like this one. When rates are high and money's tight, the companies that already own the choke points don't just survive it. They get stronger while the weak ones starve. Let's cover both the bull and the bare sides real fast. The bull case is inflation cools. The Fed gets its soft landing and the cuts finally show up later this year. A lot of beaten down names get a second life. The bare case is inflation stays sticky, rates grind even higher, and the Fed tightens instead of easing. The speculative junk gets torched. Nobody knows which side will win. And that's the point. You don't have to predict the Fed. You just have to own the businesses that win either way. The ones that survive the bare case do just fine in the bull case, too. That's not luck. So, here's the takeaway you can say loud in one breath. The Fed isn't your problem. owning companies that can't pay their own bills is. You walked out of today's video with three real things. One, the regime flipped from easing to higher for longer. Two, levered free cash flow tells you who survives it. And three, the fortresses are the ones drowning in cash, not debt. On top of that, you've got a screen you can run for yourself in 10 seconds and a red flag list you know to walk away from. But knowing the setup is maybe 10% of the game. The other 90% is holding your line when the next ugly headline drops and everyone around you loses their nerve. And that's not something you pull off alone with a watch list. It takes a daily framework and people who will pressure test your thesis before you do something you regret. So let's say you buy all of it. Regime changed. Own the cash machines. Avoid the money sucks. Ignore the noise. Great. Now the next meeting hits. the headline flashes red and your feed is screaming that it's all falling apart. In that moment, knowing the right answer and actually holding it are two totally different things because the market doesn't punish you for being wrong. It punishes you for folding at the worst possible time. And whether you fold or hold has almost nothing to do with what you know. It has everything to do with who you're testing your thesis against. That's the exact gap my Patreon community is built to fill. It is a teaching environment focused on long-term thesis driven investing and we also crush it with lowrisk and highly profitable options. This is where I share every trade I take, exactly what I'm buying, what I'm trimming, and the real-time reasoning behind it. We don't just stare at headlines. You get to watch a thesis develop from the initial position through ads and exits and see how a serious investor stress tests a business before ever sizing into it. Option strategies are available for the members who want them. But buying the stock is the simplest play, and you choose what's best for you. It is where most viewers here naturally take their next step to stop reacting to the noise and start investing with intent. The link is in the description. If you made it this far, drop cash's truth in the comments. Tribe check. We don't fund cash burns. We own the fortresses. And for those of you who stuck around to the very end, I have a special reward. One of the greatest investors who ever lived is Peter Lynch, and he said something that fixes the exact fear we just talked about. Far more money has been lost by investors preparing for corrections than has ever been lost in the corrections themselves. Sit with that for a second. The fear of the crash costs people more than the crash itself. So, how do you beat the fear? You don't dodge corrections. You own the companies built to walk straight through them. That's the whole game. If you want to gamble, buy companies losing money. Sometimes you win and it feels great, right up until it doesn't. But if you want to be a real investor, own companies that are already making money or ones you've got solid fundamental reasons to believe will get there soon. That's the line. Levered free cash flow is your default screen. The only exception is a company with a clear, proven path to it and the discipline to tell the difference between a real path and a hopeful story. Nail that difference and corrections stop being something you fear. They turn into the sales where you back up the truck. You would not have stuck around to the very end if you didn't like the content and my no BS approach.
