NXP Semiconductors beats but the stock slips on soft guidance.

NXP so NXP semiconductors we had you away in this name Pete in other words unusual option activity folks we had that uh back on the 20th of October there it is thank you John Farrell so the stock was 238 then yesterday the stock moved all the way up here let me see where it was she it closed yesterday at 253 50 so it was a really nice move but then unfortunately today it trades down rather hard it was down as much as 8 or 9% early on but I I I only show you guys the unusual activity because a it's still $8 higher than where it was when we saw that and B don't be a pig if if if you have a big winner like this one was from 238 to 253 or so why wouldn't you take some off Pete and I always stress discipline and Pete came up with DDA discipline dictates action and you know no greater example than this one where you could have been getting $7 more on this if you were taking a little profit yesterday rather than today >> Yeah you know the the interesting thing John and it's not like it's getting over it's getting beat up a little bit but you know it's it's kind of interesting because revenue is up 19% you know you look at the UOA that you were just talking about you also look at the 5 billion dollars in buyback that they're talking about >> [clears throat] >> the revenue guide you know there's it's down a few percent I think what is it 2 3% something like that John but this is one of those names that very easily could recover maybe not today but it could even happen as easy as as early as today but to your point with the unusual option activity you've got to be disciplined that's part of the world of because of you got a time frame, you know, in the options world. In the stock world, you've got your stock, you got your stock till you decide to what you're going to do with it, right? But, with UOA, you've got your stock you've got your options and at some point they're going to expire. So, you know, you've got to be very disciplined on understanding all of that and all of the things that go into that and I think that that's why you and I are always talking about John, the very first thing that people should ever know in the options world, education. They need to be educated on all of this because there is all those different Greek letters that come out there and I'm not going to get too crazy about that, but uh theta, which is time, is a very important one of all those that uh you need to be very, very uh conscious of where what when these things are expiring and so forth cuz they do. That's what options do. Um >> Yeah. >> You know what? NXPI, they're getting a little bit of the, you know, handed to them a little bit today. It isn't that bad, especially like you were just talking about John, just a few days ago when we had the unusual option activity, the stock was plenty lower. >> Yeah, it's made a nice upside move and it's held uh like I say at least $8 of that move. Um but yesterday again it was $7 higher, so that was $15 nice move.
