Hey everybody, this is the digital asset investor. Today we're going to talk about the biggest mistake crypto investors make. Um, three things that need to happen for a crypto boom. And the you've heard the saying, the longer the base, the bigger the breakout. Well, there's no other like XRP. We're going to talk about that. Staying safe from scammers and hackers. There's a lot going around on this right now. If you haven't done it, go to dixrp.com. That's the Patreon. You can join that to get these videos early and free of commercials. We have a liftoff. Okay, the market. We got a$139 XRP. The market's just sitting flat as a board, so I'm not going to spend a lot of time on that. So, let's get into it. This, folks, I have tried to tell this for a long time. This is the biggest mistake people make in crypto. This is the biggest XRP mistake people make. >> But I think the mistakes really come from just not, you know, basically if you're buying things because they're going up, right? For me, I think that the reason we've been successful is we built out a view before the markets went up. Like when everything was going down and and Athena is down 95% and everyone's trashing it, like I'm getting more interested in Athena. I'm trying to figure out what's the team doing, what's what's happening here, what's the bull case, how could this sort of narrative shift. So, I think getting excited when prices go down is actually the proper um strategy here and getting into a position before it moves cuz when they when they move off the lows, this is that's when a lot of the easy money is made. And so, I think just having a plan, doing the work, it's a lot of work, right? It's a lot of work to be locked in and the crypto markets move very fast. there's lots of news. There's there's tons of data to sift through. So, I think it's just, you know, having a fundamental view, having a thesis. We we put out fair value price targets to try to help me, you know, not that we're going to get that perfectly correct, but it's sort of a guide for me of when I want to be really interested in some of these things. And so yeah, I think that's that's probably the advice is just, you know, really lock in, do the work, and have a view and then let the, you know, let the market and then and then what does the market think if if the market is totally off, you think the market's totally offside from what you think, you might be sitting in a really good investment, you know, opportunity. And that's kind of the approach, you know, that I >> Next up, put your >> That's what I've done for years. I buy XRP when there's fear. I bought XRP after the SEC dropped the lawsuit on them. You buy when scary things are happening. You buy when everybody's terrified, like after 1010 last year. Those are the times I buy. But I I do it confidently because I know what I hold. That's how the game and it's not just for crypto. That's for any investing. Now Tom Lee is talking about Ethereum, but he is making a good point here. Uh, see Ethereum continues to be the most neutral infrastructure. I think there's a lot of wins that they're posting and the token price is 2700. It's been in the same price for 5 years. And as you guys know, the longer the base, the bigger the breakout. So, >> all right. Now, we'll show you the XRP chart here in a second. Nothing has a longer the longer the base. Is that what he said? Nothing's longer than what XRPs is. Because if you remember, Ethereum was able to benefit from their regulatory free pass from the Henman speech, which we were all covering back then during ETHGate. XRP had to go through that lawsuit. And so the base for XRP is the best probably in all of crypto. >> So I mean, part of our thesis is we think Ethereum is massively undervalued. And I mean, in this bull cycle, I think it could easily be 25,000 or 50,000 per token. I hope it is because you know what XRP is going to be if that happens. >> You you answered a question that my coms team wanted to make sure I ask, but maybe it's where do you think ETH will be at the end of the year? >> You know, I I think Ethereum should exceed its alltime high. So, I think it's above 5,000. I think Bitcoin is going to be over 100,000. And if that's the case, then I think Ethereum is around 7500. >> All right. And if that's the case, I think XRP is at5 to $10. Okay, this is the XRP chart. Let's let let's let you look real close at that. And uh chart nerd says eight years of resistant resistance, six years of higher lows. This eventually ends with violence. XRP violence. Look how look at that. Now, that I'm not a chart guy, but from all the chart people that I've watched over the years, that is a nice looking chart. Um, now this is a great point made by made by Unknown DT. Says, I wonder why Robert Mitchnik would remove the fact that he worked for Ripple from his LinkedIn profile. And I said, makes a great point. Why would anyone scrub their LinkedIn of a resume enhancer like Ripple and then talk about nothing but Bitcoin while at Black Rockck? So, let's pull this up so you can see it. That's Robbie Mitchnik's LinkedIn profile. This has always fascinated me, by the way. He worked at this CPP investment board and then he went to Ripple before going to BlackRock. Ask yourself a question. If you were able to work at Ripple for even a month, would you not put that on your resume? Of course, you'd put it on your resume. And if you're wondering, what did he do there at Ripple? Timing at Ripple. Early exposure circa 2013. Mitchnick's background includes early work at Monitor Deote and CPP Investments before he transitioned into digital assets during the early days of Ripple Labs when the company was pivoting heavily toward enterprise settlement rails. and now he's at Black Rockck an XRP crossber liquidity. Mijnik worked with the team in corporate strategy and research roles. While his operational tenure at Ripple is relatively short, it gave him foundational hands-on experience in distributed led ledger technology market design and crossber payment architectures. Then of course he did the landmark research paper which was the fundamental valuation framework in the XRP community. That's the only XRP price valuation that anybody has ever really taken seriously. Um I think some other ones were serious, but they were all made fun of. Um okay, now these are the uh this is this Jordi Vist guy who is a Bitcoin maxier that unfortunately we just have to wade through that. Three things that are needed to happen before something goes parabolic. This is an interesting uh clip here. This is just kind of a a a story for you guys on where my brain is. So I wrote a paper called the silent IPO just after about a month after the peak last year and ideologues have been selling and I know that from both data but also from talking to people and going through what people were people like Peter Teal recently Mark Cuban people that to me should embrace what Mark Andre wrote about in 2014 in terms of why Bitcoin mattered and they were getting out and you can come up with all the reasons But fast forward that into the summertime, sentiment's dead and all of a sudden it starts handling bad news. And this is the first thing about something going parabolic is you need to have exhaustion and selling and you need it to be at a point where we've had a transfer of wealth. And when Jaime Diamond is turning positive on it, not because he wants to, but because he has to. That is a cultural shift that is happening. That is something that is important. So the first thing is sentiment was bad. The second thing you need is price always leaves narratives. I think Bitcoin and all of crypto has a horrible narrative. I go back to Dale Carnegie, be interested, not interesting. And I think people are trying to shove down the benefits that come into the world over and over again to a group of people who don't care for the most part. Uh so price started to work with bad news, whether it was the cold wallet situation, whether it was the Clarity Act, whether it was rates going significantly higher, it was responding well to bad news. And then when it finally broke out, it did it on a seven sigma move. So you got price but most importantly for me is the fundamentals. So the two things back to Mark Andre's paper for me tokenization and stable coins lead as an attraction to people who fundamentally control the 900 trillion in the world. Looking at it that was becoming more interesting but we still needed the users and that's when AI agents picked up. I'm an AI person. Once the agentic world became official, which happened in August and September, whether it was this hugging face accident, whether it was being able to use them, whether it's muse, you are witnessing the greatest inflection point where digital agents hit the world. So then you're left with FOMO. This is what drives it to parabolic, the fear of missing out. And this is what you're going to see over the course of the next year in my opinion. And I will give you one metric just to huge. If you go back to Micron Technology of last year and you look what the 2027 earnings estimates were for this year, they were $10 a share. This quarter, it's going to come in around $31. It's $70 plus dollars. So the street professionally intelligent people underestimated AI. And if you go listen to an interview with Nome Brown from last week with Darcesh, his exact words about how the hugging face incident happened were, "We underestimated AI." Everyone in this room is underestimating AI when it comes to the parabolic effect in Bitcoin and the entire crypto ecosystem. >> Yes, they are. They're underestimating it. Now, look at this. Evernorth on October 14th at around 400 p. p.m. the final chapter. Um, Evernorth will premiere in Time Square, New York, which means XRP is going to be premiering in Times Square in New York. We are living through some exciting times. And they've got their little bear thing. They're doing a a promo here. Um some kind of uh advertising campaign, I guess. All right. And this is interesting, too. This is um um why am I drawing a blank on his name? Matt Hogan. Sorry. He's from Bitwise. >> So, just a few years ago, the SEC had lawsuits against every major crypto exchange. Just like 3 years ago, the SEC maintained that every crypto asset except for Bitcoin was a security and likely in violation of federal securities laws. Uh crypto companies were being debanked. Entrepreneurs were moving offshore. There's never been, to my knowledge, the degree of regulatory pressure on an industry that crypto felt for the years under the Gary Gensler era. I really think it's unprecedented in American history. And the beautiful thing about today, as you said, is not that we went from regulatory headwinds to neutral. We actually went from regulatory headwinds to regulatory tailwinds. So what are the specifics? Well, as soon as the new SEC came in under uh Chair Atkins, it removed all of those spurious lawsuits against the largest firms, against the Coinbases and the Krakens and everyone else. It's very hard to operate in a growth mindset when you're being sued by the largest financial regulator in the world. And that was every company in crypto. They also shut down the debanking effort. So now these companies can have stable uh relationships with banking. And then they started layering on positive progress, right? So not just removing the the headwinds as we said, but putting in place tailwinds. So Congress passed the Genius Act, which created a regulated market for stable coins. We've seen the SEC come out with its Project Crypto initiative, which is piece by piece pushing the industry forward. And the way to know that this is a big deal is to just look at the names that are now willing to play in the crypto market that weren't a few years ago. Black Rockck is building a huge business in the crypto market. NASDAQ, NY, DTCC are building huge businesses. Goldman Sachs says it has hundreds of people working on tokenization and stable coins. This is a industry-wide phenomenon and it's going to mean a huge amount of capital, a huge amount of investment, and a huge amount of real world applications. We're no longer just talking about meme coins, although we started there. We're talking about stocks and bonds and hundreds of trillions of dollars of assets all moving on chain. That's >> Yes, it is. That is going to be huge. This is the funniest thing that I saw this morning. This is a letter uh from Scott Bent to our old buddy Elizabeth Warren. Um and he signs it. You got to see how he signs it. Check this out. Happy Indigenous People's Day in advance to you and your family. So, he's taking a shot at Elizabeth Warren about being Pocahontas. I thought that was just hilarious. Now, this is something to pay attention to, folks. First of all, we've seen all these hard wallet hacks uh going on or not hacked. It's really the wrong way to say it. In the in the case of Ledger, the wallet the hard wallet has not been hacked. That's not what has happened. What's happened is people have ordered their hard wallet through a reseller. In this case, it was called a reseller, CryptoBillis. And that reseller sold the company to somebody out of China is the way I understand it. And whoever either the person that bought the company or somebody inside there somehow they got the hard wallets that they were reselling were being tampered with and that's and those people that ordered wallets through that reseller or a lot of them got hacked. So, this guy puts out a list of other Ledger resellers. And let me put that so you can see it. That's a list. It's CryptoBillis is apparently one of the bigger ones. Um, and then it lists. And I'm not saying any of these have done anything wrong. I'm just saying in general, if you're going to order a hard wallet, order it directly from from the company. And don't get a hard wallet if it's not a company that's been around a long long time. Because you can you I mean, You could have the ultimate the ultimate scam would be for a hard while wallet company to be created to be a scam. And I don't think Ledger is one of those. They've been around a long time. But be careful out there. You know, you know my thing. I don't use a hard wallet, but I'm not saying that there's anything wrong with it. As long as you are very careful. Order it from the manufacturer and then do everything right. Never give your 24 words to anyone. Now, this hit home with me because I, you know, I'm like a lot of you. I have older parents and as people get older, there are a million scams that are tried on them. So, I try to make sure that anyone, it's not just older people. I mean, everybody's everybody can be victimized by this stuff, but this is a good um description of some of the things that are going on out there that you need to be aware of. Hi everybody, Lori Fulbright here. So, I had a call from a viewer yesterday who lost their entire life savings in a cryptocurrency scam. And I know we've talked about these before, but it's bothered me so much that I thought, let's talk about it again. So, he gets contacted a message through social media and says, "Hey, you know, you can get this big payout of $50,000 through cryptocurrency. We're going to help you. You just put in a few hundred here and there." So, he puts in a few hundred. Okay, great. Look at it. You're going to get your 50,000, but we need 600 more. Okay, great. He does that because you're going to get that $50,000 and then okay, just pay this processing fee and you're going to get your money. Oh no, something went wrong with the processing fee. We're going to need 1,600 more. Oh no, something went wrong with that. We're going to need 2,600 more. And it just keeps escalating until he doesn't have any more money left. Money he's worked his whole life for. You guys, I see these cryptocurrency scams all the time. I have a man, he gets a message, and this person says, "Hey, I'm a cryptocurrency expert. Look at me. I've made millions. I can teach you how to make millions. It's going to be great. Download this app. And just like we say all the time, you don't click on the link. You don't call the number they give you. You don't scan the QR code. You never download the app they tell you. But he downloads the app and she's like, "Put in your own username, your own password. I don't need to know any of that. It's completely secure." So, he does all that. He thinks it's secure. He gives $100,000. And then logs into the app every day. Boy, that money is growing. Puts in another $100,000. Watches the app every day. That money is growing. Puts in another $50,000. and then finally says to this person, "I don't have any more money to invest. I'm going to take my money out." No, no, no. You know what they do? They close that app. They steal all of his money. There's no way to get it back. Don't believe these people who contact you, message you, advertise on social media that say they can make you millions in crypto that you're going to get this big payout. If you want to invest in crypto, go to a local trusted financial advisor. Someone you could walk into their office. You can see their credentials. You can talk to them in person. Try investing with them. But not these people online. All these people online who are wanting you to invest in cryptocurrency. You guys, they are liars. They are criminals. My man yesterday is just devastated. Of course, he's filed a police report. He's called the FBI. He's filed a report with the Federal Trade Commission. But none of that's going to work, you guys. That money is gone forever. And my man who gave up the 250,000, his wife said he just sat in his easy share for 6 months. He didn't eat. He wouldn't talk to anybody. Not just because he lost all that money, which is devastating, but because he couldn't believe he fell for that scam. You guys, I hear this from victims all the time. >> Man, I mean, they're they're trying everything that you can even think of under the sun. Now, here's this is an interesting conversation. And this is the Bank of England deputy governor Sarah Breeden and she's talking about stable coins here. >> We have an administration in the states at the moment that is very crypto friendly and the perception has been the criticism from some industry participants in the UK has been that the UK is less crypto friendly and the bank of England is less crypto friendly. The governor himself has said that you know crypto should stable coin should be regulated like money in a traditional bank. Is that a fair criticism, Sarah? >> I honestly think it's not. Let me explain why I think it's not. Uh what we want is a pound of stable coin to be consistently worth the same as a pound of a a deposit in Barclays uh a pound in uh uh held in central bank money. And what we are doing at the Bank of England to support that is saying stable coins will be your banker. You can hold your balances with us, not with the banks who you're trying to compete with. You can hold your balances with us. We will be the backer to the stable coin. We're also saying for those highquality liquid assets that you're holding uh to back your coins, we will be prepared to be your lender of last resort and to monetize them to give you value for >> lender of last resort. >> You know what that reminds me of? When Miguel Vayz who worked for at XRP Markets said that he thought that Ripple would eventually be a lender of last resort. And back then we were calling we were saying a lot of us were saying Ripple would become a bank and everybody said we were crazy and that was hype and speculation and you know how that story ended. I'm the digital asset investor. I am not an investment advisor. This is for entertainment purposes only. Please subscribe. Hit the like button. Tell your friends and family. Enjoy that outro.
